On Thursday 26th January, Conor and Rachel attended a taster day for prospective A level students at Girton College, Cambridge University.
Here is what Rachel thought of the day –
“On Thursday 26th I went to Girton College, Cambridge for a Geography taster day. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. We started the day off with a quiz about universities to break the tension. Then we went into groups and played a game with kidney beans to represent what we had learnt about the thousands of fishermen who can empty a lake of fish in 15 minutes in Mali. We were learning about how this could affect the marine ecosystem.
In the afternoon discussed obesity and hunger but without affecting the environment. I would recommend to anyone the Girton College taster day because it is well organised and everyone was friendly “
