Year 10 Historians had a great experience last week when 2 experts came in to run a workshop on medicine in WWI. This is linked to their GCSE exam and gave them a great insight into the challenges facing soldiers, medics and nurses during the conflict.
Students were introduced to artefacts from WWI and were told how they were used, some of the students also had a chance to ‘act out’ being stretcher bearers and casualties.
Some quotes from the students:
‘It was a fun way of learning about what they did in the war’ – Corey H.
‘I learned some uses of the equipment that I didn’t know about before’ – Ryan P.
‘It was really engaging and drilled certain moments and key information into my head’ – Chloe S.
