Pascal

Message from the Head of House

Pascal House is named after Blaise Pascal, the mathematician, inventor, physicist and philosopher. He is accredited with inventing an early mechanical calculator and the syringe.

Pascal won their first ‘House Championship’ in 2012 after finishing fourth the year before. Success has rolled in since then with the back to back victories as Sports Day Champions in 2013 to 2018. We let Berners-Lee have it in 2019 but I’m sure we will be back as winners in summer 2020.

Our house motto is –

“If you want people to think well of you, do not speak well of yourself”, Blaise Pascal.

Our nominated charity is The Grand Appeal at Bristol Children’s Hospital. Money raised supports children who are undergoing treatment at St Michael’s Hospital. The hospital helps provide support to children and families from all over the South West of the United Kingdom; from Cornwall to Gloucester, and Cardiff to Swindon. This is a massive 1,000,000 children!

The Pascal student leadership team for 2019 – 2020 are:
Georgia W (6VC)
Francisco G (6YW)
Emilia B (6YW)
