Year 10 Lydiard Park Academy Scholars re-joined their peers from other schools at their first Villiers Park workshop on Wednesday 18 January 2017. The day was delivered by Sophie Collins, an inspirational teacher from Thinking Space, and focused upon developing questioning and higher order thinking skills, through considering stimulating, interesting and philosophical ‘big’ ideas.
The workshop was held at Churchfields Academy Learning Resource Centre, a great open space which enabled Scholars to move freely and think creatively. Villiers Park students worked with different people throughout the day in a variety of activities designed to develop independent thinking, reflective thinking and effective participation skills. The day culminated in a final presentation of their group discussions and Scholars took away a great deal from the experience, in particular the confidence to keep asking questions!
