17.12.21 Amelia Makes GB Judo Squad TPAT Sixth Form student Amelia has made the Great British judo squad after a fantastic silver medal last weekend. Amelia competed in the British judo championships in Sheffield, the biggest judo competition of the year in the UK. Last weekend Amelia visited Sheffield to compete in the Cadets U48kg. She was desperate for a place back on the England squad, but unfortunately just missed out on a medal as lost the bronze medal fight. She then insisted on going back up to Sheffield this weekend to fight in the Junior Womens U48kg competition. Amelia was slightly concerned as this is under 21’s and she is only 16. However, her resilience shone through, she was determined she could do it. Amelia travelled up with the team, with no parent support this time…. The result… A SILVER medal and a place on the GB squad. Amelia is now a British silver medalist and rather than being selected for the England squad, she has been invited to join the GB squad. She’s one determined student, making the GB squad opens so many doors to European competitions. We are all very proud of Amelia’s achievements. Latest Articles: LPA is Supporting Healthy Lives LPA is Supporting Healthy Lives Lydiard Park Academy, a state school in Swindon, has revolutionised...
