Parent Support Extends to Football Sponsorship

A parent has supported his son’s secondary school through a sponsorship deal ensuring Lydiard Park Academy youngsters look their best on the pitch.

Philip Reeve, who is Managing Director of Chappells Estate Agency, wanted to give back to the school which both his sons attended from year 7 to year 13. The smart new kits were handed over to the year 8 boys’ team as an upgrade to a kit that had seen better days. As well as donating the cash for the kit, he was involved in the design and planning.

Philip said “We had no hesitation in helping with the new kit for the boys. Both my lads went to Lydiard Park Academy and enjoyed their time there. We wish the team great success with their football & hope they win a trophy or two!”

Richard Jones, a curriculum leader at LPA organised the sponsorship deal with the parent. He said “I have known Philip since 2012 when his eldest son Reuben joined the school as a year 7. Fast-forward ten years and now Torben, his youngest son, is about to graduate from year 13.

We at Lydiard Park Academy would like to share our deepest gratitude for the generosity of another local business. Philip has helped ensure that our year 8 boys football team run out onto the pitch feeling proud to represent the school”. 

The year 8 football team found the new kit to be a lucky charm as they wore it for the first time and beat St Joseph’s Catholic College 5 – 1 in the Swindon Cup.
